Corfu town imageSunny days, cool night breezes, friendly locals and fascinating history are just some of the memories that you will take home with you.

Steeped in history both the Venetians and the British have occupied Corfu and you will still find much evidence of their architecture and rule here today. The cricket pitch in Corfu town is just one of the many interesting and quirky features.

Corfu caters for everyone from golf, water sports, water parks, scuba diving, horse riding or simply for those who just want to relax on the beautiful and many beaches Corfu has to offer.

Corfu Town was built between two fortresses during the Venetian rule and is one of the most beautiful, most impressive and interesting cities in Greece. The population of Corfu Town is about 30,000, and is quite cosmopolitan compared to other islands in Greece. It is an amazing mixture of old tavernas, new cafes, bars and clubs plus the beautiful old city protected by the two fortresses.

The town's architecture offers elegant buildings, mansions, palaces and monuments in narrow paved streets with stone steps, French designed squares full of trees and flowers, impressive Venetian castles and even Byzantine churches. The narrow streets house small shops and boutiques of every kind. Among the bustle look out for those shops and stalls selling local items like wild honey, fig cakes and handmade lace. Be tempted by the Corfiot craftsman who excel at designing and making jewellery in gold and silver.

Corfu Town has a unique beauty, charm, character and atmosphere that will bring you back time and time again. A visit and a coffee in one of their beautifully situated coffee shops to watch the world go by is a must.
